CONTENT PLAYBOOK 2018

The Monumental Content Playbook of Muslim Youth Programme for 2018

(with Blog-related Goals for 2019)

Once upon a time, in September 2017, I felt that there was a blatant need for a platform for young Muslims that would help them overcome 21st century problems. An Informational Vault that would provide solutions which were logically and authentically derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Delivered in a way that resonated with us.

Everyone was telling us what we SHOULD do to become better Muslims. Amidst all the noise, I couldn’t hear anyone talking about HOW exactly do you do what you are supposed to do as a Muslim? I personally needed HOW more than WHAT. (I knew I had to sleep early and wake up early for Fajr. We all know that. But how does one practically build such habits?)

And so, a tiny blog called Muslim Youth Programme, with a huge agenda and an ever-expanding growth plan was born on 18th December 2017, with the will of Allah S.W.T.

I had no knowledge of blogging (didn’t even know the term before September 2017) and yet, here it is- with the help of Allah S.W.T, a 1-year old blog that is shining with a crew of thousands of bright Muslims behind it.

You know what I’m grateful and proud of (in a good way) the most? The fact that this blog has managed to only attract the Muslims who are willing to work on themselves– whether in a small or big way. Muslims who are of the dearest kind to Allah S.W.T.

The MYP-Crew is one of the best online communities I personally have been a part of, Alhamdulilah, and Allah knows that I’m not giving a biased opinion here. I genuinely am most grateful to know so many amazing conscientious Muslims from all over the globe. *happy tears*

This is a special time of the year for me. It’s the end of a great first year and a start of many more glowing years to come, Insha’Allah. So I decided to create a Content Playbook for all my beautiful Muslims who have been a part of this journey and those who are new (y’all are in for a treat- just sayin’ 😉).

A CONTENT WHAT-BOOK, NOW?!

A Content Playbook for 2018- it contains ALL the content created in the first year of Muslim Youth Programme. Everything in ONE place so you can glide through and pick what you like 🙂 (FYI- I’ll be creating MYP Content Playbooks for every year Insha’Allah)

The content, as its obvious, is all about self-development (becoming a better version of yourself) posted under different categories to help you navigate easily.

Hope you enjoy this!  🙂

WHO IS MUSLIM YOUTH PROGRAMME (MYP) FOR?

What is “young”? What age group falls under “Muslim Youth”?

So I’d like to give some clear answers to those questions (although they don’t really matter in general when it comes to self-improvement).

The following ages mentioned are according to the Sunnah and not the Wikipedia-definitions. There are 3 things you need to know about age:

1. The average lifespan of the Ummah is 60-70 years as narrated in the following hadtih:

Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (S.A.W) said,

“The lifespan of my Ummah is from sixty to seventy (years). ” (Hadith No. 2331, Chapters on Zuhd, Jami’ At-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4).

2. After 40, the last third of a person’s lifespan begins. It is one of the most crucial ages for Muslims. Even the Prophet Muhammad started receiving the revelations sent by Allah S.W.T at the age of forty. At forty a person enters the “Middle age” (according to modern terms) and “the last third” of his/her life (according to Sunnah). Obviously some live much longer than that and some die early but this is a general age demarcation.

From the age of forty onward, Allah S.W.T expects the following from Muslims:

“And We have enjoined on man to be dutiful & kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship. And she brings him forth with hardship, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till when he attains full strength and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! Grant me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favour which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds, such as please You, and make my off-spring good. Truly, I have turned to You in repentance, and truly, I am one of the Muslims.” [Quran: Surah Al-Ahqaf 46: Ayah 15]

3. When we say young Muslims, we mean young Muslim adults. We don’t mean kids which are under the age of 14. Below 14 is not counted as a young Muslim Adult according to Hadith (unless the Muslim has reached puberty before 14y).

4. The ideal age-group for Young Muslim Adults is 14 to 40 years.

This is the age group that is most sensitive and receptive to change. During these years, the pschological developmental changes are remarkable. There is great Hikmah behind improving yourself in this period of age because after 40, it gets harder and harder to change yourself for better or worse.

Does this mean the content on MYP can only help Muslims between 14 to 40 years of age? Not at all. Although it’s specifically tailored to solve the problems of Muslims in this particular age group, Muslims younger than 14 (under supervision of their parents) and those older than 40 are most welcome to join our community. In fact, I’ve received emails from some of our Muslim brothers and sisters above 40 saying that they find the content really useful, Alhamdulilah 🙂

Now let’s dive right into the Content Playbook, shall we?
